In this week’s episode I’m going to share with you my morning routine that increases productivity and show you how simple, yet powerful and transformative it can be.
These steps below are ones that I created in a sequence that fits me and my values and beliefs. If you are looking to create your own routine, you may want to replace some of these with steps with ones that fit your unique lifestyle and values. There is no right or wrong, but what works best for you in the morning to increase productivity.
You may be wondering how this routine increases my productivity. Once I started creating habits in my mornings that inspired me to work, my productivity multiplied. I started my day more positive, focused, and purposeful that I ever had before and realized this was crucial to my success. Here is my routine below. My hope is that it inspires you to create your own!
I am not at all a morning person, which makes my morning self-care routine so crucial to my daily success. I take it seriously because I love feeling calm, relaxed, and grounded.
It also helps to feel like I’m ahead of the day so that annoyances and irritations that arise when you’re in a hurry don’t get to me like they normally would.

Here’s my current morning self-care routine:
Phase One | Make Coffee
My LOVE for coffee is total Gilmore Girls style obsession! I love to start my morning off with a fresh brewed cup of coffee, but tea or any other drink of your choice will do just fine.
And my coffee cup collection may be a bit out of control because I also love picking out a cute cup to get me in the mood of being awake and starting my day. It’s the little things. You can get my favorite coffee gadget, a milk frother, HERE on Amazon. It has changed my life!
Phase Two | Prayer and Devotional
Once my coffee is poured and in hand, I find a quiet and tidy place in my home where I can rest my mind and focus on my creator. I spent about 15-20 min having prayer and thanking God for all His blessings over my life.
The bible I currently use is a journaling bible that has full sized pages to journal or draw inspirations while you’re reading. I kinda splurged on this one because of the beautiful leather binding and wrap rope that closes it. This one is an ESV edition and you can find it HERE on Amazon where it is actually a bit cheaper than what I paid for mine.
I also love to go back and forth between devotionals each day and use them to guide me.

Phase Three | Positive Affirmations
When I first started reciting positive affirmations, I have to admit it felt pretty silly. But IT WORKS! Positive Affirmations are just phrases that your repeat out loud to yourself that fosters a positive mental attitude. Overtime you will no doubt start to believe these truths. It will also limit the amount of negative feedback you speak to yourself.

Phase Four | Gratitude Journal
Journaling has easily become one of my new FAVORITE parts of my morning routine. Starting your day off with gratitude will get your mind in a positive state so you can easily take on anything that comes your way.
When your mind is in a state of gratitude it is almost impossible to have any negative thoughts. I love this particular journal because it is so simple. You just simply jot down 3 things your grateful for each day and take a few minutes to really appreciate them. You can grab this journal HERE for less than ten dollars!
Phase Five | Morning Smoothie
Phase five may be one of my favorite steps to my morning routine. Breakfast is something that I have to work up to in the mornings. I don’t typically wake up hungry. Once I’ve had my cup of coffee, I like to make a well rounded breakfast that isn’t time consuming.
A green smoothie is my go to and clearly has good ingredients, but it also must be tasty or forget it. I’ve tried a lot of different greens, but my all time favorite is THIS ONE because not only is it jammed packed with amazing ingredients but it’s clean and organic. It’s also GF for all my gluten free friends! And I scored $10 off when I purchased so #winwin! I don’t recommend mixing it with just water though, hence the smoothie.

Phase Six | Open Asana and Start IPA’s
Now that you’re jacked up on caffeine, you’re feeling pretty grateful, and your brain is awake……it’s time to BOSS UP!
If you don’t already know what IPA’s are, you should! These are your income producing activities aka the tasks that make you money!
It is crucial that you know what tasks to do every day that bring you income. So once my morning routine is complete, I open my project management tool, Asana, and I get to work.
Asana is my secret tool that seriously allows my brain to take a rest. I brain dump all of my ideas into my workflow, then I create a strategic plan to map it out. It also syncs all of my tasks to my Google Calendar. And when you complete a few, flying unicorns and magical creatures fly across your screen. It’s pretty bomb if you ask me. Here’s is an example of what my Marketing Plan for all of my businesses looks like. It’s still in progress, but you get the picture. Each board contains specific tasks with due dates attached.
So that’s it! My morning success routine. I hope you found some value here and it inspired you to create your own unique routine.
